Internet Safety An Issue As Sex Offender Goes Online To Find Accomplices
Last week America was shocked to hear of a 29 year sex offender who posed as a 12 year old boy to prey on children in Arizona. The predator, who attended at least 4 schools in the past year and a half, had help from other offenders he met online. Apparently, the offender pretended to be a child so that other sex offenders would help him in his plan to abuse kids. Of course, the Internet is the environment of choice for predators looking to abuse kids, which is why, when Internet safety is the issue, parents can't be too careful about knowing who their kids are talking to. It's a weird and horrible story, and at the washingtonpost.com, it's proof that the Internet is a dangerous place for kids. The 29 year old, already a registered sex offender who served time in prison for making indecent proposals to a child, contacted 2 other offenders posing as a young boy. He allowed the men to have sex with him so they could think they were abusing a child. They then enrolled him in various schools, where officials fear he preyed upon other kids. Here again is reason to worry about Internet safety - registered sex offenders who have access to the Internet are using it to prey on kids. This fact is such common knowledge that even other sex offenders can take advantage of it. Whether it's social networking sites, chat rooms, or even video games, sex offenders are on the Internet. Legislation has been in the works and recently passed barring sex offenders from using the Internet, but enforcing such a rule is difficult if not impossible, since there's no way to keep predators from logging online if they can find access at someone's home. Here again is why parental control software is the best way to maintain Internet safety. WebWatcher, the highest rated parental control software system available today, offers parents features like website blocking, website recording, email recording, instant message recording, and more. Sex offenders will clearly go to all lengths to abuse an innocent child, and there's no way to know who your child is really talking to online without help from someone like WebWatcher.

Cyber Cheating: More Couples Find A Need For Computer Monitoring Software
There's isn't much about cyber cheating in the recent article at yahoo.com, but there's a lot about technology, and how it has changed our idea of 'Romance' forever. Unfortunately, for a lot of would-be cheaters it has also changed our idea of marriage, leading more suspicious spouses to rely on computer monitoring software to keep in eye on their significant other. According to the article, "Harlequin's Romance Report 2007 found that more than 55% of men and 47% of women in the U.S. have sent a sexually explicit email, text or instant message to someone -- proving you just may be able to mix business and pleasure." But too often these days that pleasure comes at the expense of a marriage, AKA cyber cheating. Today, about 1/3 of all American divorces involve some kind of online affair, and with half of all marriages ending in divorce, that adds up to an awful lot of infidelity. This is why computer monitoring software has become so popular - it's the techno-answer to a modern techno-problem. With computer monitoring software a suspicious spouse can know for sure whether or not there's something going on when their significant other spends so much time online. Awareness Tech's WebWatcher is the highest rated computer monitoring software system today; it's easy to install, easy to use, completely invisible, and can be checked from a remote location. It has website recording, email recording, instant message recording, and more. With WebWatcher spouses can rest assured that they have a full picture of their partner's Internet habits.

Parents Sue Myspace Over Lack of Internet Safety
Even as Myspace struggles to implement its own parental control software, it has been sued by the families of several girls who were victimized by its lack of Internet safety measures. According to the insurancejournal.com, the families are "seeking monetary damages in the millions of dollars" due to the sexual abuse that their daughters experienced at the hands of other Myspace users. And while these girls and their families have the right to be angry, sad, and downright terrorized by what happened to them, winning such a case will be difficult since even legislators agree that Internet safety begins in the home. This is why every parent should have parental control software installed on the family computer, and on those of their children. A good parental control software system, like Awareness Tech's WebWatcher, will make Internet safety easy to protect in the home, giving parents the peace of mind they need when their kids log online. WebWatcher, the highest rated parental control software on the market, offers website blocking, email recording, instant message recording, and more. It can even be checked from a remote location, so working parents can keep on eye on their kids too. No one likes to hear about kids who fall prey to an Internet predator. With WebWatcher, parents can rest assured that they have a full picture of their child's at-home Internet use.

Myspace's Parental Control Software: Not Enough For Internet Safety
In the name of Internet safety, and in the struggle to keep sex offenders and predators out of its site, Myspace will soon be offering free parental control software designed to allow parents to find out what name, age and location their children use to represent themselves. Detailed by sanantonio.bizjournals.com, it looks like the software doesn't offer much else. For instance, it won't allow parents "to read their children's e-mail or see their profile pages." So how exactly will this keep sex offenders from approaching kids on the Internet? Sure, it's important for parents to be aware of what their children do online; Internet safety experts have been telling us this for years. But, if parents can't see who their children are talking to, and what's being said, how helpful can it be? As we've all heard, Internet predators approach all kinds of kids, even the good, honest ones who don't lie to mom and dad. They sometimes pretend to be the same age as your child, or use other methods to get personal information, make sexual advances, and even find out where your child lives or goes to school. This is why Awareness Tech's WebWatcher is the parental control software system of choice. It gives parents options, like website blocking, website recording, instant message recording, email recording, and more. It's also easy to install and easy to use. Knowing whether or not your kid has been honest is certainly important for parents. But in terms of Internet safety, sex offenders, and everything else that's out there waiting for an unsuspecting child, it's much more important for parents to have a full picture of their child's Internet use.

Child Safety: How Parental Control Software Can Find Missing Children
At fox28.com, finding missing children are linked to understanding your child's Internet use, revealing how parental control software can protect your kids, even when they're not at home. According to the article, "police say the best way to keep kids safe is for parents to know where their children are at all times, know who their friends are (so parents know who to call "if" a child is missing) and know who they are talking to online." How can this help? More and more kids are being solicited online, making it imperative for child safety that parents know who their child is talking to. Kids will also share information with their online friends that they wouldn't share with parents, so if your child goes missing these people might offer helpful clues to the whereabouts of the child in question. And there's no better way to know your child's Internet habits than with good parental control software. Awareness Tech's WebWatcher allows parents to block websites inappropriate for their kids to see, but also records websites, emails, and instant messaging. With good parental control software parents can protect kids on multiple fronts when they're online, making it a central tool in maintaining child safety.

Internet Safety is About More Than Sexual Predators
In terms of Internet safety, most parents think that sexual predators are the only real threat out there to their kids. But the truth is that the dangers of the Internet are more complicated than that. At the reflector.com, the dangers that face kids aren't just coming from pedophiles, they're also coming from other kids. "Chain letters organizing sexual trysts, drunken pre-teens clutching beer cans," and "others holding M-16's" are all examples pulled from youth online postings from popular social networking sites like Myspace. These are the lesser known dangers of the Internet, the ones that kids are vulnerable to based on peer pressure, or simply bad influence. There's cyber bullying, hate language, sexual aggression, and more going on, a reality that the authorities are struggling to keep up with. Social networking sites are struggling to limit this kind of behavior as well, but with so many users (140 million for Myspace alone), it's hard enough to hunt down the sexual predators, let alone the kids who are endangering themselves and others. Deputy C. Cameron Coburn, cited in the article, suggests that to maintain Internet safety parents need to "monitor their children's online accounts." But for many busy and working parents, keeping up with their kids' online activities is almost impossible. This is why Awareness Tech designed WebWatcher, as a direct response to the many dangers of the Internet. WebWatcher is the best parental control software system on the market, combining powerful controls with ease of use. It's easy to install, easy to use, and completely invisible. It features website blocking, email recording, chat recording, and more, giving parents a quick and informative look into their child's Internet behavior.

Internet Safety For Kids Hinges On Parental Control Software
Internet safety for kids and parental control software are at the heart of an article at the rutlandherald.com, where we learn that during the lifetime of today's kids, "each child will have spent more than 23 years on the Internet." Yes, it says years. And just as kids spend all of their time online, so does the Internet predator who is out to prey upon them. Though we hear about it again and again, too many parents think of the Internet predator as someone far away, as someone that couldn't possibly reach their child. Then again, a Colorado teacher was arrested this week for flying to Alaska to have sex with a child he met online. And, in Pennsylvania another Internet predator was arrested after he drove to Virginia for the same reasons. Clearly, these pedophiles will go great distances to prey upon a child, and considering how much time kids spend online, there's a 20% chance your kid could run into one every time they log on. This is why parental control software should be mandatory for all parents today. Internet safety for kids simply depends on it, which is why Awareness Tech designed WebWatcher. WebWatcher is easy to install, easy to use, and offers parents everything from website blocking to email recording to chat recording. After all, 23 years is a long time for your kids to go without a gaurdian in a space as dangerous as the Internet.

Internet Safety Starts With Parental Control Software
Internet safety is the topic of discussion at the Winston-Salem Journal, but instead of focusing on a shadowy Internet predator, the article focuses on the need for parents and social networking sites to keep underage kids from dishonestly representing themselves and using false information to gain access to an adult chat room. We hear every day about the dangers of social networking, and about online predators who take advantage of kids. But what Meisan Lim makes clear in this piece, is that kids are just as likely to engage in dangerous Internet behavior, particularly in joining sites like Myspace under false pretenses. Al Kush, the deputy executive director of Wired Safety, explains that there are "documented documented cases of 7-, 8- and 9-year-olds signing up as 21-year-olds" and using their fake identities to get into a chat room, get access to adult content, and potentially meet up with an Internet predator. Clearly this offers a new take on Internet safety; at least half of our energies should be focused on keeping an eye on kids. And, as the article explains, that isn't a job that should be left entirely to social networking sites. Internet safety should hinge on parents who "monitor their children's digital lives." But for many working and busy parents, keeping their children out of an adult chat room and away from an Internet predator requires more time and energy than they have at the end of the day. Thankfully, parental control software can help parents with just such a dilemma. A good parental control software system, like Awareness Tech's WebWatcher, allows parents to choose from website blocking, website recording, email recording and chat room recording features. And WebWatcher is the only parental control system that allows parents to check on their child's Internet use from a remote location, making it just as easy for busy and working parents to look out for their kids.

Computer Monitoring Software Matches Growing Trend in the Online Affair Business
Computer monitoring software is becoming more and more popular as the Internet makes having an online affair a simple business. At the sunjournal.com, Internet infidelity experts argue over whether or not the Internet creates more cheaters, or simply makes cheating easier for those who wouldn't be faithful anyway. There are many who believe that cheating is on the rise because technology makes it easier to betray your spouse. But many others, including a Network Security Group specialist, beleive that the online affair often happens when someone gets "spam messages," or hears about Internet infidelity and thinks "let's just take a peek." Regardless, the popularity of computer monitoring software reveals that spouses who suspect their loved one is having an online affair are taking steps to put it to an end. Awareness Tech's WebWatcher, one of the most popular and highly rated computer monitoring software systems on the market today, allows suspicious spouses to secretly record emails, websites, and even chat room conversations. And, WebWatcher can be checked any time, and from any location. So, as Ruth Houston says of Internet infidelity, "It might be easier to cheat," but thanks to software like this, "it's also a lot easier to get caught."

The Dangers of the Internet Require Parental Control Software
Parental control software ought to be a must for any parent who has kids, and Internet access in the home. At fortwayne.com, Miami police officers rely on similar software to protect all citizens from the dangers of the Internet, "patrolling" social networking sites to stop everything from school violence to identity theft. Just as crimes are committed online, the police are using the Internet to find criminals. It makes brilliant sense. As Mike Phillips, special agent supervisor for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Computer Crimes Division says, "we have to go where the criminals are, and they're on the Internet." In particular, social networking sites like Myspace provide the authorities with the information they need to know. Myspace boasts over 140 million users, and by checking out blogs, chats, journals and myspace pages, Florida police have arrested drug dealers, stopped burglars from fencing stolen goods, and thwarted a possible Columbine-like attack at a middle school. And that's only been in the last 2 months. So the question here is this: why aren't more parents relying on parental control software to protect themselves and their kids from the dangers of the Internet? Kids use social networking sites, even when their parents aren't aware of it, and while it's smart for the authorities to use the Internet to fight crime, there's just no way that they can be expected to watch over the entire online community. This is why Awareness Tech's WebWatcher is so easy to use. With WebWatcher, parents can enjoy email recording, chat recording, website blocking, and more. It's easy to install and easy to use. It's the Internet safety tool that every parent should have in their home.
